2 Ways to Give

With less than a month left in the Giving Period, it’s important to note that there are two ways to give during the Tin Cup Challenge. Both ways of giving are integral to the success of this model. Giving designated gifts to nonprofits is the most direct way to support the organizations you love. In these dire times, your gift, of any amount, helps illustrate how much each organization and their mission mean to our community. The other option is to support Teton Valley’s collective of nonprofits through a…

Community Counts: Teton Valley Community Recycling

Since helping successfully establish the County’s Recycling Center in 2011, Teton Valley Community Recycling’s role has grown to being the community collaborator, educator, and advocate for overall waste reduction including improved recycling opportunities. As Teton County’s Solid Waste budget monies go primarily to processing and managing all materials including recyclables brought to our Transfer Station, there is precious little left over to support community outreach and education. Teton Valley Community Recycling fills that role. In addition, we work with the County and…

Community Counts! Teton County Idaho Search & Rescue

It’s a beautiful evening for a late summer full moon hike. Two well-equipped hikers head up a trail near Victor to enjoy the view. The hikers reach the top but lose the trail on the way down. They can see the highway, but they just can’t figure out a safe way down. Luckily, they have enough cell phone reception to call 9-1-1. It is about 3 a.m. when dispatch issues a call out to Teton County Idaho Search & Rescue.…

Community Counts! Subs for Santa

Why does Subs for Santa matter?  Many living in our community would be quick to say that Subs for Santa brings our Valley together as one to help one another in our times of need.   In 1989, Subs for Santa was born because of a need to help a family in our community.  A group of volunteers put together a Christmas for this family.  The single mother of three wanted to give back to the generous community that made Christmas possible for her children.   Once she got back on her…
