Community Counts: Teton Wildlife Rehabilitation Center

Local veterinarians are not able to take in wildlife patients. Local DVM, Summer Lee Winger, sees the dilemma first-hand, that the regular veterinary clinic is not the channel for wildlife rehabilitation. “It is difficult in most cases to work on wildlife in a normal clinic setting. The goal of wildlife treatment is to treat, rehab, and release with as little human interference as possible.” Teton Wildlife Rehabilitation Center (TWRC) bridges that gap of medical needs for wildlife, and to date…

Community Counts: Community Resource Center of Teton Valley

Resilient. Someone recently suggested this term to describe the Community Resource Center of Teton Valley (CRCTV) after a year spent responding to the pandemic. It caused us to pause and reflect. We most certainly had to flex, bend, think and reconfigure in order to rise to the challenges of 2020. Yet rise we did. With the help of generous donors, we were able to launch an online application that enabled us to keep both clients and staff safe while still…

Drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death in the United States for ages 1-4 and the second leading cause of death for ages 5-9. In our valley alone, over one third of households surveyed reported having a non swimmer. Currently, there is…
