Since its beginnings in Teton Valley in 1993, St. Francis of the Tetons made community service a cornerstone of its ministry. Our mission statement puts it well: as followers of Jesus, we strive to “walk humbly, patiently and kindly with our neighbors.”
Since its inception the church reached out through various networks to offer assistance to community members in need. Members of St. Francis offer their time, labor and financial support to provide direct assistance to those experiencing hardship within our community. We collaborate with other Teton Valley nonprofit organizations such as the Community Resource Center, Teton Valley Food Pantry, Teton Country Schools, Seniors West of the Tetons and various youth organizations. Parish members help families stockpile firewood for winter heating, assist aging individuals moving to more supportive living environments, assist with utility bills, emergency auto repairs and gasoline purchases and provide holiday gifts to assisted living residents. By collaborating with other Teton Valley not-for-profit organizations, we are able to provide additional aid to individuals and families with extensive needs beyond what our parish members or other organizations can provide alone. That’s where the Tin Cup Challenge comes in!
During this past year St. Francis’ Tin Cup dollars have been used to benefit the community and its residents by providing funding and assistance to Tetonia Elementary and Teton School District Special Education classrooms, Boy Scout projects and activities, assisting with utility bills, delinquent rent, emergency auto repairs and gas purchases. This assistance provides a hand up and allows community members dealing with extraordinary hardships the assistance to help them recover and move forward with dignity and grace.
We invite you help these outreach efforts that make a difference in the lives of our neighbors and community. Please consider a donation to St. Francis of the Tetons when you make out your tax-deductible check to the Community Foundation of Teton Valley. Your donation will help provide social services and assistance to those in our community who are most in need. While St. Francis of the Tetons manages, monitors, and administers these funds, it is your donation that provides critical social services and assistance; these funds are not used in anyway to support the church congregation or its operations.
All contributions must be received by the Community Foundation no later than July 23rd, 2021.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
