$500 – Teton Valley Youth Lacrosse Association
Youth Philanthropists partially funded new helmets for the Teton Valley Youth Lacrosse Association’s upcoming season this spring in order to keep up with their growing program.
These funds will help augment their gear rental package for boys and girls in the program. Modern lacrosse helmets protect against concussions from stick, helmet, and ground impacts. Unfortunately, they are expensive to buy – especially as kiddos grow every year. The gear rental program allows families to have access to quality gear on a season-by-season basis, rather than invest in gear that will be outgrown by the next season. The rental gear is priced low in order to benefit families and greater participation; the pricing does not cover TVYLA’s cost of buying new gear as the program grows.
Teton Valley Youth Lacrosse prides itself on good citizenship values, and winning is never more important than sportsmanship. TVYLA aims to instill the values they hope to see in our community; leadership, sportsmanship, and self-esteem with the added value of being part of something bigger than oneself. They hope that by providing assistance with equipment needs, the community will be reimbursed with kind, thoughtful, altruistic members in the years to come.
Youth Philanthropists are familiar with the fact that most physical sports require helmets to keep participants safe from concussions and other head injuries. They were happy to fund quality rental gear to ensure the safety of players in this locally growing sport.
