Total Funds Raised During Teton Valley’s Premier Giving Event Surpass $1 Million for the First Time
Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the Tin Cup Community Challengers and individual donors, the Community Foundation of Teton Valley is thrilled to announce the highest Tin Cup Challenge match percentage to date.
“The match percentage for the 4th Annual Tin Cup Challenge is 52%, allowing us to increase the amount of match dollars distributed to participating nonprofits by 23% over last year,” said Community Foundation Executive Director Shannon Brooks Hamby.
With the support of 66 Community Challengers – 30 of whom were new this year – and an additional $50,000 from the Tin Cup’s Tin Donor, the Community Foundation of Teton Valley raised over $436,000 for the match fund.
Remaining available match funds will be distributed through the Community Foundation’s grant programs. The available funds for grants are expected to double this year thanks to the increase in match funds.
Also cause for celebration is the news that overall fundraising during the 4th Annual Tin Cup Challenge exceeded $1 million for the first time in the history of the event. The total number of donors increased 21% over last year and total funds raised exceeded $1,080,000, an increase of 27% over last year. In four years, the Community Foundation of Teton Valley has raised over $1.3 million in match funds and through the Tin Cup Challenge, more than $3.7 million for the nonprofits in Teton Valley.
“During a time of economic instability, these numbers are particularly significant and reflect our community’s commitment to increasing programs and services in this valley through philanthropic giving,” said Brooks Hamby.
A total of 44 nonprofits participated in the 4th Annual Tin Cup Challenge and generated over $636,000 in designated giving, an increase of nearly 20% over last year.
