$4,016 – Mountain Bike the Tetons
The Community Foundation of Teton Valley was honored to award a $4,016 grant to Mountain Bike the Tetons to purchase three new laptop computers for its staff. The Community Foundation strongly supports this technology upgrade which will provide staff with resources that will increase output, efficiency, and impact within the community.
Mountain Bike the Tetons is lacking crucial technology infrastructure for its administrative staff. Mountain Bike the Tetons currently employs one full-time staff member (Executive Director) and two part-time staff members (Trails Director & Program Coordinator). Each of these staff currently uses their own personal computer to carry out the daily operational tasks for their jobs. Some of those computers are fairly operational, while others cannot functionally host a Zoom video call.
Mountain Bike the Tetons programs are robust and heavy on details and communication. For the organization to effectively and efficiently carry out its community work, having functional, fast, and easy to use computers is critical on an hourly basis. Furthermore, proper resources to do the job effectively increases job satisfaction, which lowers staff turnover. This efficiency over both the short-term and the long-term helps Mountain Bike the Tetons provide more programming, build more trails, and create more recreational opportunities for the community.
This grant will serve to assist Mountain Bike the Tetons in solving its lack of critical technology infrastructure by purchasing three sets of high-quality computer equipment for its three administrative staff positions. Each staff member will be issued a new 13” Apple Macbook Air and a carrying case to protect the asset from damage. Laptops are crucial for Mountain Bike the Tetons’ business model, as employees work from home, at the office, and outside in remote locations while running community trail workdays, bike races, youth bike programs, group rides, and workshops.
The Community Foundation commends the important work of Mountain Bike the Tetons and believes that the organization’s upgraded technology infrastructure will enhance its communication and program delivery.
