The Community Foundation of Teton Valley is pleased to be offering a Finance 101 workshop to Teton Valley nonprofit staff and board members on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 1:30 to 5:00 PM at the Driggs Community Center. “Through the generosity and support of our Challengers and other private donors, we are able to provide our nonprofit community with workshops in best practices that help to build strong organizational foundations while encouraging continued education for nonprofit staff,” said Carrie Mowrey, Community Foundation of Teton Valley Executive Director.
This half day seminar will be led by John Heymann of the NewLevel Group and will help participants to:
- learn the fundamentals of nonprofit financial management,
- acquire the tools for building board and staff knowledge of financial management,
- understand how to read and analyze common financial statements, and
- recognize the importance of financial literacy.
With more than 35 years of experience as an entrepreneur, business owner and nonprofit leader, John has a keen understanding of the needs of both businesses and the nonprofit sector. A former Peace Corps volunteer, Managing Director of the Land Trust of Napa County, and CEO of international financial consulting firm Motto Kryla & Fisher, John has the ability to work with a diverse group of individuals while gaining consensus and delivering results.
