We have just completed the first round of our Competitive Grant cycle, during which Teton Valley nonprofits are invited to submit proposals for projects, initiatives and capital expenditures that will help further their mission and address critical needs within our community.
After a very successful 4th Annual Tin Cup Challenge, we determined that we would double our grant funding for 2012 and increase our funds to $40,000 for both Competitive Grants and Grants. Our Grant funds are provided by Community Challengers, through their generous donations to the Tin Cup Challenge.
Our Grants Committee reviewed 16 applications during this funding period, requesting a total of $90,224. A second meeting by the committee in March will determine the projects and amounts funded, with final grant awards announced in early April.
Over $90,000 in total grant funding has been awarded to Teton Valley nonprofits since our inception in 2007, providing arts education for local students, food bank supplies, grooming equipment for local trails, essential medical services for animals, library books, basic necessities for struggling local families and individuals, library books, soccer field equipment and much more.
