Anyone that has ever lived in Teton Valley can speak to its amazing, tight-knit community. Here, you know everyone from your grocer to your doctor and it’s not uncommon for your neighbor to help you out of a snowy ditch. Most of all, we value seeing our community’s well-rounded youth everywhere from the art studio to the sports fields. Such a special value is important to pass on to our children. At Teton Valley Lacrosse Association we know a great way for children to learn about community is through team sports.
After the pandemic, many of us were left feeling socially isolated and we knew it was more important than ever to make sure our community’s children felt like they were part of something bigger than themselves. Being a part of a team builds leadership, sportsmanship, and self-esteem. It’s important for the children of our future to learn the reward of helping others achieve a common goal while simultaneously feeling supported by their peers.
Lacrosse is a great outlet, both physically and mentally. Like other after school activities, it helps keep kids out of trouble and hold them accountable for their actions as members of a team. We are excited to be helping children develop skills they will use for the rest of their lives. Values like comradery, respect for themselves and others, determination and grit, can all be learned on the field.
Your donations help keep our program affordable to any and all who wish to play. Thanks to you, we can provide rental gear and scholarships so that children from all economic backgrounds can be a part of our team. Our team members grow up to be team players, bringing those skill sets to the community as they take on more adult roles. In short, your donations go full circle.
An immense thank you to all our past, present, and future donors, this year has been challenging on many levels. It’s patrons like you in our Teton valley community that are the foundation for the values we wish to instill in our children’s future.
