If recent events have taught us anything, it is that we greatly need a sense of community to help us overcome difficulty when times get tough. We are at our best when we seek to tap into collective sources of strength, resiliency, and collaboration. Teton Valley is known for the exceptional way in which we care for each other – we know how to show up for our neighbors, lending material support and emotional comfort in times of turmoil and distress.
For over a decade, the Teton Valley Mental Health Coalition has been there for our community, working tirelessly to promote mental wellness through education, collaboration, and the coordination of community resources. Especially during uncertain and difficult times, our programs offer critical support for Teton Valley residents, reducing barriers to mental health care, and potentially saving lives.
The Mental Health Coalition offers a Community Counseling Program, which provides free mental health counseling for members of our community who are experiencing a mental health crisis but cannot afford to pay for services. Through its School-Based Counseling Program the Coalition provides free mental health counseling and support for local children attending six public schools, from kindergarten through 12th grade. Through its Grief Support Program, the Coalition provides a free, professionally facilitated support group for parents grieving the loss of a child. We actively collaborate with community stakeholders, mental health counselors, medical providers, and community members to address emergent mental health needs in Teton Valley.
Mental health matters in Teton Valley and we need your support. Together, we can continue to promote mental wellness, healing, and resiliency in our community. Please consider a gift to the Teton Valley Mental Health Coalition through the 14th Annual Tin Cup Challenge today!
