Happy National Philanthropy Day!

Today is a special day. It’s National Philanthropy Day! Organized in the 1980s, this day is significant in recognizing the important role philanthropy has had on societal change. Today especially, we celebrate the change we’ve made, the change we’re making, and the change that is yet to come. Today we pay tribute to the great contributions that philanthropy – and those active in the philanthropic community, namely YOU – have made to our lives, our communities, and our exceptional valley.
It Takes a Village
Teton Valley is unique in many ways. Aside from amazing mountain views, one of its best aspects is our residents’ sense of generosity as a community value. Through the Tin Cup Challenge and our community’s natural tendencies, we have unequivocally developed a culture of giving valley-wide. This generosity has elevated thousands of lives and will continue to do so as we invest, empower, and enrich residents through the hard work and dedication of our nonprofit community.

Walking the Talk

Our deepest gratitude goes to our Board of Directors. This winning team has surpassed Tin Cup Challenge fundraising goals year-after-year for the benefit of all Teton Valley nonprofits.
Two years ago, they diligently set, and have since adhered to, a thoughtful and forward-thinking strategic plan. In October, they participated in our annual Board Retreat where they devoted a whole day to teamwork, personal commitments to the Board as members, and revisiting the Foundation’s Priority Goals.
Their dedication is noteworthy and we greatly appreciate their philanthropic leadership.
Saying Adieu

— Tina Culman — Tina served on the Board for six years, covering two terms. She was Vice-Chair in 2016 and then Chair for the last two years. Her steady hand-carried the Foundation through the untimely loss of Program Manager, Dawn Banks, the smooth transition of Executive Directors, and capacity-building growth of a third employee for the Foundation. She’s been a champion for the Foundation and local nonprofits alike – always willing to connect and collaborate. Thank you Tina! | — John Finley — John served on the Board for a total of three terms, covering nearly a decade of service. He served as Vice-Chair for two years and has been instrumental in carrying out breakfast on Tin Cup Challenge Event Day since inception – generously sponsoring this portion of the event through his business, McDonald’s of Jackson Hole. His early morning efforts have ensured enough hot coffee for all to spur on runners, volunteers, and generosity. John will continue to stay on our Grant Committee. Thank you John! |
Cheers to our newly appointed 2019/2020 Officers:
