Position Purpose:
The Human Resources Manager will run the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, including onboarding, administering pay, benefits, housing, employee relations, and enforcing company policies and practices. They are the first point of contact for staff.
Qualifications/Skills:
At least two years of human resource management experience preferred
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Must take initiative to improve processes as needed
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Ability to train and make presentations
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
Proficient with Google Suite or related software
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
Demonstrated experience within Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Able to write/type/communicate effectively
Primarily based at Jackson Campus of Teton Science Schools with potential meetings/interactions/work on all campuses locations. May consider remote candidates.
Able to sit/stand at a desk for up to 8 hours
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities
Responsibilities:
Facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand posting requirements
Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
Responsible for the daily administration of other HR services, including but not limited to oversight of recruitment, compensation and benefits, audits, performance evaluations, affirmative action/EEO compliance, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, productivity, recognition, and morale, Workers Compensation, Housing, and training and development; HRIS, and others as directed or assigned
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, handling complex and/or sensitive matters. May be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations
Attends, participates, and oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Works with Managers to resolve employee relation issues
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
Performs other duties as assigned
One TSS Responsibilities:
Proactively and positively share the TSS mission and program structure with external stakeholders
Member of the TSS Operations Team and TSS Leadership Team
Cross-market TSS programs when opportunities arise
