Community Foundation of Teton Valley Steps into Independence

Fueled by nearly two decades of community generosity and partnership, the Community Foundation of Teton Valley is proud to step forward as an independent organization. This transition strengthens the Foundation’s ability to support the nonprofits, donors, and neighbors who make Teton Valley thrive.

In 2007, the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole helped establish the Community Foundation of Teton Valley as an affiliate to support and encourage fundraising for west-side organizations. Over the past 19 years, the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole provided systems, administrative support, financial expertise, and leadership that helped the Community Foundation of Teton Valley affiliate grow into a successful and trusted local organization.

Generosity has always been a defining value in Teton Valley. Growing support from donors, Tin Cup Challengers, and the community has made this milestone possible. As an independent organization, the Community Foundation of Teton Valley will oversee all operational aspects, including donor-advised funds, scholarships, and millions of dollars raised annually through its flagship program, the Tin Cup Challenge.

“The Foundation’s experienced board and staff are prepared for the work ahead and remain dedicated to strengthening the nonprofit landscape thanks to the trust, support, and genuine commitment of the community,” said Bonnie Self, Executive Director. “This exciting moment of independence gives us the ability to make timely decisions, take ownership, and be nimble in responding to Teton Valley’s needs.”

Along with supporting the transition, the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole has committed a generous three-year grant of $50,000 per year to help launch this new chapter. This ongoing partnership reflects a shared dedication to strong philanthropy and building connections between communities on both sides of the Tetons.

“It has been a privilege to help support the growth of the Community Foundation of Teton Valley over the past two decades,” said Laurie Andrews, President of the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole. “We’re confident that the Community Foundation of Teton Valley will continue to strengthen nonprofits and inspire generosity across Teton Valley for years to come.”

While independence marks an exciting milestone, the heart of the work remains the same: neighbors helping neighbors. The Community Foundation of Teton Valley will continue collaborating with donors, nonprofits, and community partners to ensure generosity makes a lasting impact across the valley.
