September grew up in Pocatello, Idaho, and is a member of the Shoshone Bannock Tribes. She moved to Teton Valley in 2010, where she now lives full-time in Victor, ID.
She brings more than 40 years of experience in compliance, planning, permitting, and environmental conservation and consulting. She has 20+ years of experience as the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Sundance Consulting, Inc., a small, women-owned Native American business, where she oversaw management across finance, investment, business development, contracts, procurement, strategy, marketing, and human resources. She sold Sundance (95 employees) in 2024 and is happily retired.
She holds a double B.S. in Human Resources Training and Development and Corporate Training from Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID.
September was introduced to the Community Foundation as a grants committee member in 2024 and continued to serve in 2025, during which she quickly learned about the Foundation’s importance and how it serves its nonprofit community. Her goal was to learn more about the nonprofits in Teton Valley, and what better way! She is excited about the Community Foundation’s thoughtful move toward independence and is eager to support the transition wherever needed to make it seamless.
September is working with the Executive Directors of Teton Valley’s Mental Health Coalition, Community Resource Center, Family Safety Network, and the Food Pantry on a phased approach to bring these organizations “Under One Roof”.
Fueled by a passion for helping others and changing future outcomes, she also sponsors the construction of a new school for the Rock of Ages Community School in Mbiko, Uganda. Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty by caring for these children and providing education, food, water, and healthcare.
September and her husband, Shawn McFarland, love spending time with their blended families. They have three daughters, 2 sons, and 4 grandchildren. They enjoy skiing, rock climbing, biking, hiking, camping, and, most of all, traveling abroad.
It is a privilege to serve on the Community Foundation of Teton Valley’s board.
