TETON VALLEY FOOD PANTRY ALL-STAFF EXPECTATIONS
All employees will embrace the Teton Valley Food Pantry mission:

TVFP expects all employees to have a comprehensive understanding of all our current programs and be willing and able to speak to anyone about these programs.
TVFP employees will maintain a positive environment for public engagement. All staff members help with any and all daily activities at the Pantry.
All employees are expected to ensure that everyone is treated with dignity and respect and are offered exceptional customer service and support. Employees are expected to maintain a respectful, professional and positive environment to all.
All employees will be given adequate training and education to effectively perform their required duties. Employees are expected to stay informed on progressive food safety and handling practices and are encouraged to talk to their manager if they believe food safety best practices are not being followed.
TITLE: Pantry Assistant- Part time 20 – 25 hours/week, year-round.
COMPENSATION: $22 – $24 DOE
DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Executive Director
SUMMARY:
Under the immediate supervision of the Executive Director, the Pantry Assistant is responsible for providing services that are essential to the TVFP mission: “Provide nutritious supplemental food to the Teton Valley community.” The Pantry Assistant will work as part of a team and his/her duties will be in the service goals established by the Board of Directors and administered by the Executive Director.
The Pantry Assistant should have the ability to handle stressful situations with composure. As an employee of TVFP, shall conduct all activities in an ethical, confidential and professional manner, in accord with TVFP policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate for this position will have strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills, is self-motivated, organized and able to prioritize tasks and anticipate future needs. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets and Google Docs. A willingness to learn new skills, databases and the ability to shift priorities when needed.
POSITIONS SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Evaluate food pantry inventory, including donated food weights, receiving and stocking.
Works directly with volunteers on job duties and tasks, while maintaining neighbor interaction and communications to the highest degree of confidentiality.
Works closely with Volunteer Coordinator in training and scheduling with
Sign Up Genius or similar scheduling programs.
Maintains compliance with annual training as required and follows procedures for sanitation and safe food handling practices.
Leads food distributions as described in SOP and fulfill other duties not included in this description.
Work with local businesses, communities and organizations for donations and food drives, as directed by the Executive Director.
Creates and ensures a safe working environment for self, volunteers and neighbors with all applicable health, safety, civil rights and employment laws.
Attend weekly staff meetings and/or training opportunities as directed by the Executive Director.
Participate in fundraising activities, events, and community functions as needed.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs in and around the Pantry.
