Summary of PositionÂ
TRLT is seeking a full-time Engagement Associate to lead grassroots membership, donor engagement, and outreach efforts. This is a hands-on, people-facing role ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, organizing meaningful experiences, and keeping the details straight while juggling multiple projects.Â

You’ll be a key connector between donors, volunteers, community partners, and TRLT staff, helping grow support for conservation across the region.Â

What You’ll DoÂ
Development & Donor Engagement (45%)Â
Manage donation processing and maintain TRLT’s donor databaseÂ
Build and steward relationships with grassroots donors and membersÂ
Draft membership appeals, acknowledgements, and donor communicationsÂ
Research grant opportunities and assist with donor communications as neededÂ
Support broader development efforts alongside the Development teamÂ
Â
Outreach, Events & Community Engagement (45%)Â
Plan and execute fundraising, outreach, and appreciation events from concept to cleanupÂ
Coordinate logistics including venues, permits, vendors, volunteers, sponsors, ticketing, and paymentsÂ
Track event budgets, income, and expensesÂ
Lead post-event follow-up, including thank-you notes to sponsors, volunteers, and donorsÂ
Serve as the primary staff contact for volunteersÂ
Support youth education initiatives, including updating Teacher Trunks and occasional school or community presentationsÂ
Help design and order annual TRLT merchandiseÂ

Team Support & Growth (10%)Â
Support the Executive Director, Development Director, and Communications Manager as neededÂ
Attend staff, committee, and board meetingsÂ
Collaborate with the Conservation team to deepen understanding of TRLT’s workÂ
Participate in professional development opportunitiesÂ

What You BringÂ
Relevant professional experience or degree (nonprofit, communications, marketing, sales, or community engagement preferred)Â
Strong written and verbal communication skillsÂ
Excellent organization, follow-through, and time managementÂ
Comfort managing multiple projects and deadlines at onceÂ
Genuine interest in building authentic relationships with donors and community membersÂ
A collaborative, positive attitude and willingness to jump in where neededÂ
Passion for conservation and community-based workÂ

Technical SkillsÂ
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Â
Experience with CRM databases or data management systemsÂ
Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Eventbrite, BiddingOwl, SquareSpace, or similar platforms preferredÂ

Valid driver’s licenseÂ
Flexible schedule; some evening and weekend work required for eventsÂ
Occasional local or regional travelÂ
