Join Teton Regional land Trust for a weed pull on two Land Trust-owned properties, Woods Creek Fen and just off the Teton Creek Corridor Trail. Help play an important role in ecosystem health by making room for native plants to thrive and provide for wildlife.
WHAT: Pull weeds on two Land Trust owned properties–primarily pulling Canada and musk thistle, but also potentially spotted knapweed, houndstongue, and oxeye daisy. Weed identification information will be provided before the pull, so all skill levels and ages are welcome! This is a great learning opportunity. Bring the family!
WHEN: Saturday, June 29th, 2024 at 9am
WHERE: Meet at the Teton Regional Land Trust office at 9am. From there, we will divide volunteers into two groups. One group will carpool to Woods Creek Fen, and the other to the Teton Creek Corridor public parking area. Note, parking is limited at both locations, so please carpool from the Land Trust office (1520 S. 500 E., Driggs) if you can!
DURATION: Including travel time, we anticipate this event running approximately 3-5 hours, depending on the number of volunteers.
WHAT TO BRING: gardening gloves, long sleeve shirt, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, waterproof or muck boots, bear spray, trowel, bug spray, snacks/lunch, and water. The Land Trust will provide drinks.
