Each year, the Tin Cup Challenger Fund serves to inspire others to give to their favorite local nonprofits, knowing that their gifts will be matched by the Community Foundation’s Tin Cup Challengers. These Challengers are stewards of philanthropy, inspiring community-wide giving while graciously conveying their commitment to and belief in improving lives through the power of generosity.
Karen & Dean Scheid are 2015 Tin Cup Challengers and they give because…
“We’ve been coming to Teton Valley for over 25 years now and we feel so blessed to have found this place. It only feels right to want to give back. Being a Tin Cup Challenger suits us perfectly. We can give to our favorite nonprofits as well as participate in the Challenge to help provide a match for everyone. It’s a win/win situation and we’re happy supporters.”
In 2000, after years of visiting the Valley, Karen and Dean finally decided to build a home along the banks of the Teton River in Driggs and divide their year between Idaho and Hawaii. Now, as official residents, they have become active community members, committed to improving lives in Teton Valley through the power of their generosity.
In addition to their support as Tin Cup Challengers since 2007, Karen and Dean donate their time to supporting the Teton Valley community through volunteer work with local nonprofit organizations. In 2014, Karen joined the board of the Community Foundation of Teton Valley so that she could “be actively involved in learning about and supporting all the nonprofits in our community.”
