This post first appeared on our blog on February 13, 2015. As Valentine’s Day approaches, we wanted to share this “love letter” to our community again because we remain in love with your love of Teton Valley.
Candlelit dinner reservations are being made, bouquets of red roses are being scheduled for delivery and heart-shaped boxes of chocolate are flying off store shelves, which can mean only one thing…Valentine’s Day is almost here. In honor of the holiday, we want to share our love for the people who love Teton Valley.
Right now, over 45 nonprofits are working tirelessly to address the many needs of our community. The board members, staff and volunteers of these organizations are committed to making Teton Valley a better place for all of us to live, work and play. Their passion is evident in the work that they do each and every day. To these nonprofits we want to say, WE LOVE YOUR LOVE for this place we all call home.
For the last 8 years, the Teton Valley community has come together to raise money (over $8 million to date) for local nonprofits as part of the Tin Cup Challenge. Thousands of community members show their support through donations large and small to the nonprofits that serve Teton Valley. These donations impact the lives of citizens each day through the work of local nonprofits. To the Teton Valley community we want to say, WE LOVE YOUR LOVE for our fellow citizens.
Each year, Challengers and other private donors partner with us to improve lives through the power of generosity. These gifts provide the match received by nonprofits participating in the Tin Cup Challenge, the grant monies awarded to organizations doing innovative and impactful work in Teton Valley and training in best practices for local nonprofit staff and board members. These philanthropists play an integral role in the success of local nonprofits and our community at large. To these generous Challengers and private donors we want to say, WE LOVE YOUR LOVE for the organizations working to serve the Teton Valley community.
It was all done with love…love for this place and the people who live here. So this Valentine’s Day we want to say, to each and every one of you, WE LOVE YOUR LOVE!
