Donations made through the 2023 Tin Cup Challenge were critically important for continuing the restoration of the historic American Legion building in Driggs. These funds were used to replace the building’s ancient wiring, to install efficient electric heating and insulation, and to refinish or replace the flooring. Without generous community support, mobilized by the Tin Cup Challenge, this would not have happened. In its 10th year of operation, Teton Rock Gym continues to evolve its youth programs, classes, and events to serve more people in Teton Valley. Between our 460 gym members, school groups, youth programs, and visitors, the rock gym saw 11,500 visits this past year. Over 70 adults took advantage of climbing and aerial silks classes, 85 local school children climbed through Winter Sports, and 39 kids had meaningful after-school sports opportunities. The Teton County Fair Board was thrilled to be awarded a 2023 Competitive Grant for $2,000 to help purchase ten new picnic tables for public seating. Valley Adaptive Sports collaborated with Teton Valley Aquatics and Teton Valley Foundation to scholarship instructor-led swimming lessons and inclusive Ice & sled hockey. They provided 24 swimming lesson dates with 3-4 instructors per session. They also offered 12 inclusive ice and sled hockey sessions. The Teton Springs Foundation matched a $2,000 Competitive Grant from the Community Foundation for $4,000 in scholarship grant funding. Teton Valley Trails & Pathways used $3,904.39 of a $5,000 Competitive Grant award on the construction of a hardened culvert crossing through a riparian area on the new Northside Trail in Teton Canyon (formerly known as the Parallel Trail). Their project accomplished its objectives by teaching students about emotional identification and regulation skills, as well as equipping them with a handful of coping skills.
