Richard Grundler has generously created a 4-year scholarship worth a total of $40,000 to be awarded annually to a Teton High School Latino Senior in good standing who has been accepted to an out-of-state university. The Community Foundation of Teton Valley is honored to steward these funds in partnership with the Education Foundation of Teton Valley, who will administer the scholarship. Scholarship awardees will be granted $10,000/year over four years.
This scholarship presents the possibility for students to venture outside of the region and support a healthy quality of life for themselves, their families, and quite possibly this community. According to Richard, he “established this opportunity to provide hope for intelligent, motivated, and capable Latino students.”
While there is currently one scholarship awarded annually, Richard aims for this opportunity to instill hope amongst Latino students that there is help available. Richard seeks to address the fear of debt from college finances and not waste the mind of a prospective college student. Additionally, he hopes this scholarship inspires local community members to join him in creating a robust, local scholarship program to invest in the future of our community.
This year’s Richard Grundler Scholarship application period closes Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 5 PM. Access the scholarship application at www.tetoneducation.org.
