On Wednesday evening, the Community Foundation of Teton Valley hosted the much-anticipated 17th Annual Tin Cup Challenge Awards Ceremony. This beloved community event brought nonprofit leaders, donors, and volunteers together to celebrate the successful results of the 2024 Tin Cup Challenge.
After heartfelt acknowledgments of the significant contributions of the Foundation’s Board, staff, challengers, and volunteers who support the success of both the Tin Cup Challenge Giving Period and Event Day annually, the Community Foundation’s Executive Director, Bonnie Self, announced results to an anticipatory crowd, “This year, we had our most successful Tin Cup Challenge yet, breaking records once again and raising an astounding $3,372,937!”
This year’s total funds raised reflect a 19% increase over last year. Gifts from Business & Community Challengers and Friends aggregate the Challenger Fund, totaling $1,194,147– which is an increase of 8% over last year. Designated gifts raised by participating nonprofits brought in an amazing $2,178,790, an increase of 26% over last year.
Inspired donors totaling 1,355 gave during this year’s Tin Cup Challenge – meaning that one in four Teton Valley households participated in charitable giving through the 2024 Tin Cup Challenge. In seventeen years, the Tin Cup Challenge has raised nearly $27 million for the health and well-being of Teton Valley, a community of 12,000+ residents.
Self stated, “These impressive results demonstrate the value and importance of local nonprofits. I am humbled to be part of this effort. Thank you for walking alongside the Community Foundation to help Teton Valley become an even better place to live, work, and play.” The celebration continued as nonprofit representatives picked up their grant checks, including a 56% Match Grant for the first $25,000 in funds each participating nonprofit raised during the Tin Cup Challenge Giving Period.
Challengers and nonprofits gathered, as one community, to celebrate the success of the 17th Annual Tin Cup Challenge. The event was both inspirational and engaging – providing a unique opportunity for nonprofit champions to mingle and celebrate their collective work. Celebrating together creates shared joy for this fundraiser’s positive impact on the community annually.
The palpable gratitude felt during the Awards Celebration is due to the overwhelming support of 282 Business & Community Challengers, 40 Friends of the Challenge, and 5, 816 designated contributions to 61 participating nonprofits. Without the nonprofits that work tirelessly in our community or the unwavering support of our committed donors, the landscape of Teton Valley would be vastly different than it is today. The health of our community is dependent upon the success and vitality of our local nonprofits. Thank you to the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole for their partnership and to everyone who made the 17th Annual Tin Cup Challenge our most successful event to date.
Together, we continue to elevate lives through the power of generosity. We have truly built a foundation of giving within our community. Thank you for collaborating in this success and to all those who have helped achieve this amazing accomplishment.
