STUDENTS TO AWARD $10,000 TO LOCAL NONPROFITS THROUGH YOUTH PHILANTHROPY PROGRAM

The Community Foundation of Teton Valley invites local nonprofits to apply for funding through our annual Youth Philanthropy Program, which will distribute $10,000 in grants this fall. Individual grant proposals may request up to $1,500.

  • Application Opens: 9 AM, Monday, September 29, 2025
  • Deadline: 5 PM, Friday, October 17, 2025

Partnering with Teton High School’s Dual Enrollment Government classes, the program provides seniors with a unique chance to engage in philanthropy. Students review grant applications, interview nonprofit leaders, and ultimately decide how to allocate funding to local charities.

According to one of last year’s participants, “I learned there are many organizations that make our community great—and that philanthropy isn’t just about giving money. It’s also about giving time, effort, and skills.”

Foundation leaders emphasize that the program benefits both youth and the wider community. “This initiative helps students see firsthand how generosity strengthens a community while shining a light on the diverse roles nonprofits play across Teton Valley,” said Brian Thysell, Program Manager of the Community Foundation.

Since its inception, the Youth Philanthropy Program has introduced hundreds of students to the value of giving back while directing meaningful support to local nonprofits. The program is made possible thanks to the generosity of Tin Cup Challengers and private donors like Dr. Richard Grundler.
