How to Give Through the
Tin Cup Challenge

2025 Giv­ing Period is June 13 — July 25.

There are two ways to give during the Tin Cup Challenge. Community Donors make a sin­gle des­ig­nat­ed gift, with their cho­sen amounts allo­cat­ed to spe­cif­ic non­prof­its they wish to sup­port. Challengers and Friends of the Challenge give undesignated funds that help partially match those gifts—boosting the impact for every participating organization. It’s a powerful way to come together and make local giving go even further.

What is a Tin Cup Donor?

One in three households in Teton Valley give through the Tin Cup Challenge—it’s a true community effort. Donations come in all sizes, from all over the valley, united by a shared commitment to giving back. When you give during the Tin Cup Giving Period, your designated gifts are boosted by additional funding from Challengers and Friends of the Challenge through a partial match grant.

It’s easy to give: just pick your favorite nonprofits, decide how much you want to give to each, and make one tax-deductible donation to the Community Foundation. Every gift counts and adds up to something big for our community.

Tin Cup Challengers

What is a Tin Cup Challenger?

Chal­lengers are a spe­cial group of indi­vid­u­als and busi­ness­es who donate to the Challenger Fund. These gifts are not ear­marked for spe­cif­ic non­prof­its, but are used to match the community’s dona­tions. Chal­lengers generously give at lev­els of $1,500+.

Chal­lengers’ gen­eros­i­ty inspires increased com­mu­ni­ty giv­ing and is key to Tin Cup’s suc­cess. Chal­lengers can proud­ly call them­selves com­mu­ni­ty lead­ers who pro­mote char­i­ta­ble giv­ing and intrin­si­cal­ly val­ue phil­an­thropy. Com­bined with com­mu­ni­ty-wide efforts, they high­light the tremen­dous work of local non­prof­its and appre­ci­a­tion of that work.

To make the Tin Cup Challenge a suc­cess, more than 200 vol­un­teers are need­ed before, dur­ing, and after the event. Thank you to all the vol­un­teers who give of their time each year!

Tin Cup Captains

The Com­mu­ni­ty Foun­da­tion is deeply grate­ful for the 636 volunteer hours that make the Event Day pos­si­ble. At the core of our vol­un­teer pow­er­house are our Tin Cup Captains. In part­ner­ship with the our Program Manager, this team works tire­less­ly through­out the sum­mer to plan and exe­cute Event Day. Among other things, it assists in creating platforms that allow these entities to thrive, providing necessary funding and resources to drive impactful community enhancement projects. One emblematic representation of the foundation’s influence is evident within the visual identity for the City of Driggs. The logo features outlined yellow mountains, symbolizing both the geographical and aspirational peaks reached through communal support and philanthropy.
