The Tin Cup Challenge matters for as many reasons as there are residents of Teton Valley, but here are two: one specific and one general.
Specifically, the Tin Cup Challenge helps us spend more time doing what we love – which is fostering personal and community growth through the challenge of rock climbing! Fundraising is a challenge for the Teton Rock Gym. Our small staff works hard and wears a lot of hats. Being able to participate in Tin Cup helps gives us a great return on the limited capacity we have available for fundraising. Participating in a fun event that the community loves and understands is a huge boon to our ability to raise money to support our mission.
Much more generally, the Tin Cup Challenge is a powerful force toward building a strong culture of philanthropy in Teton Valley. It reminds us of the diversity of the nonprofits in our community, and how we can work together. Importantly, it shows us that fundraising is not a zero sum game – more nonprofits with more great energy can work together to raise even more money to benefit the community we all love.
