Ben was born and raised on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, and spent most of his adult life serving in the Canadian Army in a fulfilling occupation that took him worldwide. However, in grad school, he met a girl from Jackson, and after attempting (poorly) to split time between Canada and the US for a few years, he decided to pop the question, retire, and call the Teton Valley home permanently. After leaving the military, one of the aspects that Ben wanted to prioritize in his life was to become an active member of the community, and he found an opportunity by volunteering with the Community Foundation and Food for Good Teton Valley, among others. Although he will probably have to go back to work at some point, Ben is enjoying the ‘retired’ life post-service and just completed building his own home in Victor. When not doing that, he can be found chasing elk around the woods, skiing on Teton Pass, or exploring the amazing mountains that he feels blessed to enjoy living in.
