In its 10th year of operation, Teton Rock Gym continues to evolve its youth programs, classes, and events to serve more people in Teton Valley.
Between our 460 gym members, school groups, youth programs, and visitors, the rock gym saw 11,500 visits this past year. Over 70 adults took advantage of climbing and aerial silks classes, 85 local school children climbed through Winter Sports, and 39 kids had meaningful after-school sports opportunities. Over 72 children climbed outdoors through TRG’s summer camps, and 15 Team climbers competed in USA climbing competitions for the first time!
Our Women’s and Nonbinary Climb night drew 80 climbers to find community and climb, with attendance averaging 20 people per event. Additionally, in partnership with Teton Valley Pride Alliance, we created space for 20 queer climbers to enjoy climbing at the gym in 2023.
Between January of 2023 and May 2024 we’ve had 60 kids under the age of 5 enjoy safe access to climbing at our weekly events. We’re thrilled to have so many tiny climbers enjoying the space again.
Funds raised through the Tin Cup Challenge help Teton Rock Gym serve climbers from 1 to 75 years old across 24 youth programs, 15 adult climbing, and 4 important community and social events including, but not limited to Free Family Climb, Women’s and Nonbinary Climb Night, Queer Climb Night, Reel Rock Film Festival and more.
