The Tin Cup Challenge provides crucial support to Seniors West of the Tetons to enrich the lives of aging adults in Teton Valley. The unrestricted funds collected through the Community Foundation of Teton Valley enable SWOT to provide health, nutrition, and fitness programs as well as fun social activities at the Senior Center, around the community, and beyond. These programs combat isolation and loneliness essential for the vitality and wellbeing of older adults.
A few seniors shared how the Senior Center has made a difference for them.
“As a former trust officer I am aware that social isolation is a serious problem for oldsters,” said Nancy Perry Reed. “Now that I am an oldster I am thankful for Seniors West of the Tetons. The programs they offer encourage interaction and new educational tools broaden our horizons. Of course, those wonderful lunches by our Chef Peter are the best! How lucky we are to have SWOT!”
“We have enjoyed fit and fall-proof and tai chi classes,” said Barbara Aronowitz, speaking for herself and husband Jerry. “The lunches prepared by Chef Peter are highlights. Programming such as hiking, bowling alley visits, and attending a concert at Grand Teton Music Festival are what make SWOT outstanding.”
“Well, it took us a while to come to grips with our retirement age and go to SWOT for lunch,” said Mark Kaczor, who attended SWOT functions along with his wife, Mary. “The food and the people were great, and we learned about activities that we currently participate in. We haven’t looked back!”
