As January unfolds with new year’s resolutions, we look to the future and chart our course for the year ahead. Youth Philanthropy strikes the chords we’re strumming this time of year – those of improvement, enhancement, growth, community, and well-being.
The Community Foundation of Teton Valley is proud to bring our Youth Philanthropy Program to Teton High School seniors this January, for the 7th year running. The Foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Program provides students with a hands-on learning opportunity to explore the concept of philanthropy, as well as to learn more about the vital roles nonprofits play in Teton Valley.
The Community Foundation solicits grant requests from local nonprofits to be presented to a select high school government class. Students are responsible for carefully reviewing each grant application, discussing each project’s potential impact in the community and determining how to award their allotted funds from the Community Foundation of Teton Valley.
The Youth Philanthropy Program is made possible through the generosity of Tin Cup Challengers and other private donors who partner with the Community Foundation of Teton Valley to improve lives through the power of generosity. Youth philanthropists will be awarding $5,000 to local nonprofits this month.
Our supporters help chart the course for Teton Valley’s future. Your gracious contributions allow for this continuous investment in our youth. Through your commitment and resolve to enhance our community, you are leaving a legacy of generosity for the next generation – and that’s a resolution we can all stand behind.
Happy New Year!
