SUMMARY:Navigating Critical Conversations
DESCRIPTION:The responsibilities of executive directors for small nonprofit organizations extend far beyond what is typically expected of an E.D. You are required to multitask, adapt on the fly, and address a wide range of challenges while simultaneously facing ongoing demands and pressures from various stakeholders, including your board, donors, and even your staff. The persistent expectations can be overwhelming, making it difficult to focus on long-term goals and strategic initiatives.\nInstead of having conversations about roles and responsibilities or setting healthy boundaries, it is common to freeze up, avoid, or feel stuck. This can ultimately lead to burnout and the risk of leaving an organization that you are more than equipped to lead. While conversations like these can feel daunting, they don’t have to. This workshop is designed to\nguide individuals and teams so they feel confident in navigating these critical conversations.\nThrough a combination of guided exercises and discussions, participants will:\n• Understand the concept of “edges” in organizations: what they are, how they show up, and why they matter\n• Recognize the signs that their organization is approaching or resisting an edge\n• Unpack and explore the specific edges of their organization\n• Develop practical strategies and practices for intentionally and resiliently crossing these edges\n• Connect with peers for valuable reflection, sharing, and co-creating wisdom around navigating change\n• Determine and commit to accountability for fostering lasting and productive change\nTo maximize the workshop’s effectiveness and tailor the content to the specific needs of the participants, Nicole Garrett will conduct brief interviews and/or pre-assessments with registrants.\n__________________________\n$30.00 In Person\n
